EFFECT OF GERMANIUM-EMBEDDED KNEE SLEEVE ON OSTEOARTHRITIS OF THE KNEE

The study, which was published in The Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine, was conducted in a hospital in the United Kingdom over the course of 6 months. The findings showed a significant decrease in pain for people who suffer from OA from the continued use of germanium-embedded knee sleeve (the technology that Incrediwear uses to make recovery and pain relief a reality). Alternatives to surgery are preferred from both the patient and practitioner perspective. However, after years of trying to decrease pain it can feel like a patient's only option. This study showed that it is possible to delay or avoid surgery for OA pain. However, the results are best when the nonoperative pain management is done at early sign of the symptoms. "It was found that knee braces are a cost-effective measure that can delay the need for surgery over an 8-year period and could potentially replace the need for surgery altogether." For the patients in the study, pain relief can be achieved as easily as wearing a knee sleeve consistently. At a fraction of the price of surgery, the Incrediwear Knee Sleeve is an effective nonsurgical treatment for knee pain.

INJURY STUDIES

In the last five years, two studies have been conducted on the speed of recovery from wearing Incrediwear sleeves. The first study was conducted by USC Division of Biokinesiology & Physical Therapy in 2016 on the Real Salt Lake soccer club. The second was conducted in 2019 on the FC Cologne soccer club. Both studies focused on the effectiveness of wearing Incrediwear sleeves to reduce time-loss for professional athletes.

The 25 team players were instructed to wear Incrediwear braces and sleeves through the duration of the season. With injury, players would wear a sleeve on the affected area. Sleeves were also used during sleep, travel days, and before, during and after training sessions. In comparing the 2018 and 2019 seasons, FC Cologne found that the sleeves contributed to faster absorption of swelling and pain improvement in acute injuries. Players noted the high quality of comfort benefits of the sleeves and braces, with little to no restriction in their training performance.

Total Knee Arthroplasty Study

Key Findings

  • At Day 21 post-op, subjects who received Incrediwear had19% LESS swelling
  • At Day 21 post-op, subjects who received TED Hose(compression, standard of care) had 35% INCREASEDswelling
  • Subjects who received Incrediwear had less painand had 4% better Range of Motion compared to thestandard of care (compression) group.

Effects of Non-CompressiveRecovery Leg Sleeves on Time-Loss in Professional Soccer Players Methods

Compared to the No Sleeve Season, the Sleeve Season missed 62% Fewerevents and lost 53% fewer days due to all injuries.

  • Compared to the No Sleeve Season, in the Sleeve Season 70% fewer meangames were missed and 66% fewer events were missed for lower extremitysoft tissue (sprain, strain, pain, tightness, and soreness) injuries.
  • For lower extremity injuries, there were significantly fewer days, games, andevents missed in the Sleeve season compared to the No Sleeve season.
  • Mean days missed for lower extremity soft tissue (sprain, strain, pain,tightness, and soreness), injuries decreased from 15.94 days in the No-Sleeveseason to 9.09 days in Sleeve season.
