- Hi! Does the black ankle sleeve run smaller than the gray? I have the gray in large and it fit more comfortably than the black large?
- Hey Christine! The Ankle Sleeves should fit the same regardless of color. The ideal fit for the Ankle Sleeve is to have it just tight enough to not fall down your leg, but not so tight that it causes discomfort or a visible cutting off of circulation (which would defeat the purpose of the garment). Incrediwear just has to rest comfortably on the skin, like a sock, in order to release infrared waves when activated by your body heat.
- I purchased an ankle sleeve a couple of years ago, and used it infrequently. I am now suffering from acute osteoarthritis in my right ankle and appreciate the support the sleeve gives me, however it has stretched out on the upper half. I have washed it in my front loader machine and never put in the dryer. I have two knee sleeves which have held up well, but am disappointed with the ankle sleeve. Please advise. Love your products! - Hello Lara! It's important to understand that, with the exception of the Back Brace, Incrediwear is really not meant to squeeze like a support garment. Incrediwear just needs to comfortably rest on the skin in order for the material to be activated by your body heat and release therapeutic infrared waves that stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage. If it is worn tightly like a compression product, it could actually reduce circulation rather than accelerate it, thus defeating the purpose of the product. That being said, the product can start to stretch out over time, particularly if you never put it in the dryer and thus do not expose the elastics to any heat. If the garment has stretched out because of this, you can reverse it by washing the garment first, then drying it on a moderately high to high heat setting. This will shrink the internal elastics, giving it a more snug fit, and will not negatively affect the infrared component of the product in any way. Once the garment is shrunk back to a better fit, I would suggest laundering the item by using low heat on your dryer instead of airdrying. The low heat setting is ideal for any Incrediwear product, because it is just enough heat to revitalize the elastics and keep them from stretching out over time, while also not being so hot that it would cause unwanted shrinkage. - Hello Sue! As long as Incrediwear rests comfortably on the skin and is not too tight or constrictive, it can technically be worn 24/7 including overnight. Wearing the garment overnight is actually a great idea for 2 reasons: 1) it's a great way to ensure that the garment isn't too tight, because being able to fall asleep in the product and wake up the next day without issues is a good sign, and 2) it's also an easy way to get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted infrared therapy from the garment, even if it isn't being worn much during the day. In short, the more you wear Incrediwear properly, the more benefit you will get from it, and it does not need to squeeze in order to function. - Can you wear socks over the ankle sleeve and will it fit into your shoe?
- Hello Danny! There are a few different factors to take into consideration with this question, because the main concern would be breathability and overheating. These factors include the thickness of the sock worn over the Ankle Sleeve, the kind of shoe being worn, the length of time wearing these things over the Ankle Sleeve, and external temperature. The Ankle Sleeve is a thick, open-toed garment designed for much more intense infrared therapy than any of our socks. As such, it is generally best worn either at home without shoes and socks over top of it, or with sandals/flip flops for maximum breathability, but you can certainly experiment and find what works best for you given your situational factors. Wearing thin socks and roomier shoes over the Ankle Sleeve on a colder day will definitely be more tolerable than wearing thicker socks and tighter shoes over it on a hot day!
